Who is responsible
This website is run by Craftcookie. If you have any questions about your data, write to craftcookie@gmail.com.
Craftcookie has no user accounts, contact forms or newsletter. The site's search runs entirely in your browser, so your searches are not sent anywhere.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Bluehost (Newfold Digital, Inc., USA). Like any web server, it records basic information each time a page is requested: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the page you came from, and your browser and operating system. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The logs are kept for a limited time and then deleted. Details are in Bluehost's privacy policy.
Consent banner
Visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before analytics or personalised ads are used. The banner is provided by Google (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Your choice is saved in a cookie so you aren't asked again on every page (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR, § 25(2) TDDDG).
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time: .
Google Analytics
If you consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which stitches are popular and how visitors find the site. Google Analytics uses cookies and records pages viewed, how long you stay, your device and browser, and your approximate location (country or city). Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. Data is kept for 2 months.
Without your consent, no Analytics cookies are set. Google may then receive anonymous signals without identifiers, such as that a page was viewed. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG).
Google AdSense
Craftcookie is free because it shows ads from Google AdSense. If you consent, Google uses cookies to show ads based on your interests and to measure them. Without your consent, Google shows non-personalised ads and does not use advertising cookies for personalisation. Google may still process your IP address to deliver ads and prevent fraud. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). You can learn more in how Google uses information in advertising.
Data transfers to the USA
Google may process data in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as providing adequate protection. More information: Google's privacy policy.
Links to social networks
The Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram buttons are plain links. Nothing is sent to these networks until you click one. After that, their own privacy policies apply.
Your rights
You have the right to access the data held about you, and to have it corrected, deleted or restricted. You can also ask for your data in a portable format, object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting what happened before. Write to craftcookie@gmail.com. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the one where you live.
