Simple Honeycomb - Stitch Sample

Basic honeycomb stitch with stockinette cells. The fabric has a beautiful depth effect and would look great on a cushion cover.

Difficulty level: Easy

Instructions

You need a stitch number multiple of 4 + 2 edge stitches. Repeat the pattern between the arrows as many times as you like.

Right side rows (1, 3, etc.) are worked from right to left, as shown in the chart. Purl all wrong side rows.

2strt - 2-stitch back cable - C2B (slip 1 onto a cable needle and hold in back of work, knit 1, knit 1 from the cable needle)

2stlt - 2-stitch front cable - C2F (slip 1 onto a cable needle and hold in front of work, knit 1, knit 1 from the cable needle)

Traditional Instructions

Row 1: edge st, *  c2b, c2f, repeat from * to last st, edge st
Rows 2, 4, 6 & 8: edge st, purl across to last st, edge st
Row 3: edge st, knit across to last st, edge st
Row 5: edge st, * c2f, c2b, repeat from * to last st, edge st
Row 7: edge st, knit across to last st, edge st

Repeat rows 1 through 8.
